Geografía Situada en el sudoeste de la península Ibérica, a orillas del río Guadalquivir, en el límite de su tramo navegable (a unos 120 km de su desembocadura en el océano Atlántico), la ciudad, que se adapta a un amplio meandro del río, queda limitada al O. por el brazo mayor del mismo, rectificado por un canal llamado sucesivamente Fernandino, de Bonanza y Sevilla-Mar, y por donde se drena el agua.
